Aye Quaid-e-Azam tera ehsaan hai ehsaan!
I wish I could find the words to describe the agony I felt while watching this week’s Sare Aam on ARY news. I wish I could express the pain, the shame, the disgust.
“Mazaar-e-Quaid grave room is available on rent for young couples”.
Our dignity is for sale…
Our faith is for sale…
Our moral values are for sale…
Our honesty is for sale…
And now, so is our Quaid’s grave room. The only Quaid who stood for our freedom till his last breathe.
The very Quaid that led a life full of hardships so that we would be able to live our lives in peace.
The Quaid-e-Azam who struggled for our betterment— the people he hadn’t met or known— just cared and sacrificed for. The reason Pakistan was created. The reason Pakistan exists.
But what did we ever give him? A divided nation? A failed nation? A nation for sale? A burnt residency? A grave room for sale? Precisely!
We were given freedom— we took it for granted.
We were given power— we misused it.
We were given a country— we destroyed it.
We were given a leader— we sold his grave.
Shame on us!
But it doesn't here. When this news came out, how many channels covered it? ONE!
And how much media coverage did Veena Malik get? (Do I even have to answer this one?)
Furthermore, how will the people involved be punished? Or may be a better question is: Will they be punished? If those who burned down Quaid’s Ziarat residency were terrorists then these people are nothing less. It is also crucial to realize that the security guard arrested was NOT the ONLY one involved. The management of the mausoleum was obviously guilty as well. Who will punish them? The people who sold my Quaid’s grave room are still out there! I can’t stand that thought.
But sadly, in a country where an FIR is registered against the TV channel that exposes the culprits and no action is taken against those who commit the crime, the words “justice” and “law” are no more than a joke. A joke that is not even funny anymore. The jokers are out dwelling their lives with freedom while patriots who expose them are held hostage, manhandled and dragged to courts. QUAID-E-AZAM WILL NEVER FORGIVE US!
