Some Words are far more spoken than practiced they way they should be in their complete essence and i don’t doubt word democracy tops the chart .Most spoken and abused word in our country.
Haven’t You Got Sick of Listening This Word Democracy ???? At least I am …Political activism these days in Our country has made this word more famous than ever before in History of Pakistan …!!
This just urged me to self search what actually democracy is….!!
word “DEMOCRACY” having important Athen history by Origin is Combination of Two Greek Words
“Demos” meaning People And “Kratia” meaning Power.
So Democracy is “power of People”
Oxford defines Democracy as :
“A SYSTEM OF GOVERNMENT BY THE WHOLE POPULATION OR ELIGIBLE MEMBERS OF STATE, TYPICALLY THROUGH ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES”
In a Nut-Shell, Democracy is rule of people . for the people , by the people.
So Far this is Most accepted way of ruling a country and is practiced in most Countries of world.
Democracy is a complex system having few important component , Each one of which is not only necessary but complement each other ..!!
* A government that comes into power through elections that are frequent, free, fair, and competitive
* Rule of law (the government cannot violate the constitution or basic laws at will)
*Justice for all is made available.
* Guaranteed civil rights (the right to speak out, the right to assemble and petition, etc.)
* Guaranteed political rights (the right to vote, the right to Protest for rights)
*Devolution of power
* A free press that it is independent of the government, and multiple sources of media information
* Accountability to the voters (through elections, recall mechanisms, polls, etc.)
* Protection of minority rights
* Government transparency (the government generally works in the open, and corruption is limited)
* Horizontal accountability between branches of government (checks and balances)
* Internally sovereign government (the government can act without an unelected force [like the military] preventing it from ruling)
* Near-universal adult suffrage (almost all citizens of age are allowed to vote, regardless of race, religion, etc.)
most of General elections held in Pakistan ended up in controversies and allegations of rigging by losing team on winning party but Elections held on May 11,2013 are unique of its kind ,these were most perplexed general elections ever in history of Pakistan because Their fairness without a doubt is doubted by every winning or losing party . proofs of rigging are also exposed by many media houses And Opposing statements of ECP further puts life in doubts raised by intellectuals.
Putting Our democratic system in litmus test of democracy any where in the world ,can not even get through Very first of democracy (i.e ) free and fair election.
Then Why Any Intellectual would not doubt Democracy in Pakistan .
But One may digest Controversial election if government may show any conviction to deliver and cater problems of people . It’s just so ridiculous that for some people in our country definition of democracy is limited to having general elections.
Lets Just dare to Accept this fierce reality ..!!
Democracy in Pakistan is actually a myth .. Its nothing but just a blatant lie .
Pakistan may have had general elections, but never had democracy …General elections is one of the clause of democracy but that definitely does not complement it but initiates it and what complement it is prosperous society.
Statistic of International survey adds weight to my point of view..
According to figures of Global Democracy Rank , IN 2008-2009 Pakistan’s Rank was at 107 and in 2011-2012 it is at 110 . This makes Pakistan at scoring among countries having poor democracy at position 5.
Such Statistics are hard Core slap on the face of self claimed custodians of democracy who try to persuade public that its totally Okay if your children die or you die because of hanger but after that Be proud full in Grave because u had democracy in your Country…Immense Shame..!!
People are never killed by institution for their protection in democracy, children do not die Because of Hanger and poor health conditions in democracy , people are not detained from their basic right of protest in democracy , inflation does not increase in democracy. people do not suicide because they cant pay their electricity and gas bills in democracy. justice is not served to Omnipotent only But all this is happening in our country because we do not have DEMOCRACY but AUTOCRACY.
Autocracy the government of absolute monarch, no lesser than dictatorship..!!
Government of aristocracy and nepotism can never serve to problems of people.
And This government is in no way showing any conviction to look into problems of common man Current Government itself speaks for its Nepotism and autocracy,Other don’t need to do much ..!!

You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.
its not Democracy But Autocracy Disguised In Democracy.
