IoBM Accepts The Challenge
On Friday, 5th of December 2014, a large number of students gather to streets near IoBM braced with brooms, paints and masks on to take up the challenge of street cleanup project.
Institute of Business Management (IoBM), in association with Abdobz Arts organized a street cleanup project Szabist and IBA’s spot fixing challenge near IoBM. The project’s main focus was to clean the streets and repaint them in order to beatify the city through art and make Karachi a greener and healthier place to live in. Societies of IoBM such as SHRS, MARTS, EPS, TMS, SWAT, Vanquishers and Rotaract Cub joined hands and participated in full throttle and took part in this initiative. Other fellow IoBM students were also invited to participate and volunteer in this great cause. The event was sponsored by Nelson Paints and supported by Engro Vopak Terminal ltd.
The street cleanup project was first done by Indus Valley school of arts who then nominated IBA. In no time the project went viral on social media and through word of mouth. All universities nominated each other and each one has taken up the challenge to contribute in making their city cleaner and beautiful.
The idea behind this initiative is to help the city in whatever small but effective way. What must be admired in it as a whole is the enthusiasm and the passion of students to come out of their lavish homes and actually do something for their city despite of just criticizing about how bad it is. It takes a lot to wear gloves and masks, step out and clean. The cooperation of each and every student is commendable and such initiatives must be encouraged.
We, students of IoBM would like to thank, our sponsors for contributing in this great cause, IBA and Szabist Student Council for nominating us, and our university, IoBM, for encouraging us in participating such an activity.
