NTS and our respected Teachers
Recently after presenting an idea of NTS for the existing teachers by Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government, it is discussed in every corner of the province, when you will either go to a coffee shop or a hair dresser shop so you will see the people discussing NTS.
A few days back when Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government announced that all the existing teachers in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa will appear for NTS test.
Those teachers who fail the test will be discharged the job with a golden hand shake and qualifying teachers will continue their respective posts.
Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government has argued that KP government annually released one billion rupees for the salaries of teachers while the results is still shameful, the education experts and educationalists said that after the weak performance of the teachers Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government is going the take this bold decision.
When the news published in newspapers, all the teachers were shocked and some started making plans for strikes while other polished their links with the politicians to escape from the test.
Common man and civil society appreciated the decision of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government, they opposed the teachers for strikes against the idea, they expressed that if the teachers or not able to appear in NTS then how were they teaching our children?
Mostly the teachers are not happy with the decision and are making some encounter plans, because they are sure that they can’t not qualify the test.
In Swat after the regime of Wali Swat the education system is completely damaged due to the weakness of teachers and involvement of politicians in education system, in 1965-70 Swat was called the state of educated people while now it is ranked 15th among all the provinces of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
This is to think that the students in private schools are getting outstanding positions while teachers of private schools are getting less salary whereas the students of government schools fail in their exams while the teachers have salaries more than 200,00.
Our teachers should not be afraid of NTS, this is not a rocket science but a simple test according to the positions, I have appeared three times in NTS and passed the test every time with more than 65% marks.
Basically NTS is the abbreviation of National Testing Service. NTS is a Non-Governmental Organization Surrounded by the necessary principle of raising the quality of education in Pakistan, the main objective of NTS is to start a trustworthy, credible, technically suitable as well as perfect system of performance assessment for the candidates of several educational institutions at various levels. That’s why it helps in carrying out an assessed ranking of the candidates for admissions in several educational institutes. NTS is offering the quality Service in educational testing as well as testing assessment mechanisms.
Presently NTS has raised the linkages as well as associations with educational and professional organizations and institutes, comprising of those engaged in talent search as well as career and educational promotion activities, at national and international levels as well.
Khalid Maqbool, Governor of Panjab represented NTS in Pakistan in 2007, with regards to admission to universities and later set aside by the government unless the laws regarding university admission were amended Criticism included allegations that the services were inconvenient to access and prohibitively expensive to economically challenged students. Maqbool called for input from the vice-chancellors of Punjab’s public universities on 4 June that year, each university department was permitted to set its own entrance requirements, with six of 64 departments at Panjab University electing to utilize tests from NTS. In October 2007, the vice-chancellor of Punjab University, Muhammad Arif Butt, endorsed the use of NTS testing in all departments of the university. NTS director Haroon Rasheed said that no tuition centers are associated with the service and NTS exams will not be out of course, and with the passage of time and the performance of NTS. Now most of the education departments in Pakistan use NTS for their entry tests.
