With The Stronger Smiles
Till the time you get to read this blog, you already must have got to read hundreds and thousands of words to console, tribute and honor the martyred-children of the APS, Peshawar massacre. There is actually no line of thought, words and manner to lessen the grief of those families and specially of those parents. It is also true that as a nation we have never been in mourning so long and we still mourn. This brutal massacre of the innocent children left all those parents, families and the whole nation in a deep sorrow and definitely we would never forget it.
I myself am a teacher and I can say with much surety that after parents these were the teachers who were jolted most by this terrible incident. As these are the teachers at school and in the classes with the students standing with them. Teachers, who impart knowledge, grow them, nourish and mould them in the successful humans. It was totally shattering for the teachers to have seen such a heinous act of killing the young kids. Since these are teachers who make the young kids learn about the different life patterns, we smile with them, laugh with them and teach them tactics to face the all good and bad time of life.
It was observed evidently that after this incident, the very next day teachers have received the kids back to the school somewhat scared; face-down with grief and yes with some startling questions asking to us in fact to all the elders around them. It must have happened in all the schools in Pakistan. What I remembered is that I noticed that my kids’ smiles were vanished that day. They were silent and have realized at this very young age that they are no longer safe anywhere.
At this time, we hear a lot of things about security measures, raids for those culprits, army operations and other things of same sort. Similarly it should not be forgotten that this attack on the kids has left a heavy responsibility on the teachers’ shoulders. The responsibility is that we need to train our kids in a better fashion to secure themselves, making them realize that they are the best safe-guard for themselves. God forbid, in the event of such of terrorism the first thing they are supposed to do is to make themselves secure and yes their friends too if they can easily do. Now in all Pakistan, there should be a drill to educate our kids to deal with such kind of attacks since it seems clear to us that even our kids’ schools are not safe. Yes, these drills, exercises and education must be conducted not to make the kids horrified with the current circumstances yet making them aware and ready to go through this tough time safely. It should just aim and end at one thing that kids should be trained and not to make them depressed at all.
One thing that is really good about our nation’s kids that after having seen terrorism so frequently they are still much courageous and brave. It is a fact that for a while, they get horrified but they are same playful and joyful sooner. Thus, we need to utilize the very courageous traits of our kids in order to make them brave enough to deal such cowardice acts. This is a heavier responsibility on every teacher now since these young kids are most important to us than anyother thing at the school. It is a time to be intelligent in making them prepared yes not making them depressed or scared.
One other important thing is that to maintain the kids’ psychological states clear from all kinds of fear, uncertainty and ambiguity as this event has left an impact on the kids’ psychology. I remember one girl from my class who was not scared for her survival but was shattered after this incident that how someone could be so cruel to the young kids. Here, we need not to conduct or arrange a whole seminar or symposium but just a very persuasive and positive counseling to these kids would be much helpful. Induce it into the kids’ brains that yes it was brutal most ever happened in the history of humans but we have to move on. One should not forget it, our young martyrs but also must have to continue with the life. It should also be realized to them that such kind of coward people also have one weakness and their weakness is our education, a stronger nation and the very brave kids. Tell them if we stop so we ourselves will make those people succeeded. Now, it is the high time to train our kids in the manner to deal them with such war-like situation yet helping them in attaining all their academic excellence.
It is indeed, our dark-history that every time when we see those martyred-kids pictures tears roll down automatically. Days have been passed but a sorrowful-air keeps lurking around in all Pakistan. Yet, we elders have got a responsibility and yes more responsibilities on the teachers’ shoulders to take out our kids from this grieving and scaring state and bring their confidence back. Make them smile back when it comes their school name. It is to make their school the same old place where they laugh, fun and play with the friends. Parents also should not scare them in the name of school as it is much detrimental to their psychological health. As a matter of fact, we all have to stand together united, courageous and determined to defeat the people who stare our kids and yes we have to have our kids along with us not to get scare of them yes to ensure that our kids are not afraid.
Our kids’ smiles are precious most than any jewel in the world. Each one of them is the Prince and Princess of our nation. We need to protect them at our best and should do every effort to end thing that baffles them. Those kids who were martyred should never be forgotten at any stage. They were already Princes and Princesses crowned with the martyrdom at this young age in fact, tell your kids that these are heroes who will be remembered and we have a responsibility to continue to carry out the cause for that they have been martyred for. The cause is to make Pakistan, a country of kids’ smiles, young scholars, engineers and doctors. Thus, we would be able to bring the best revenge to the people who showed up the savagery against our innocent kids with a smile on our face, Ameen!
