The return of PTI to the NA
As a PTI supporter, I don’t know whether to laugh or cry. Less than four months ago, I stood alongside ‘our’ leadership chanting slogans against the parliament, against people sitting inside and against the idea in general, that people be given the opportunity to sit there and legislate laws on the basis of rigging and unfair advantage granted by their former positions of authority.
The ‘jaali’ parliament of yesterday and the sold out politicians that stood inside have suddenly gone clean, or probably revamped their ideologies completely, as a supporter of sanity refusing to comply to every command of the party leadership, I believe as the party of change, there are five things PTI must consider and actually act upon:
- Admit the fact that they were wrong and pressure politics and street movement although may have great influence on the government, they are not the ultimate solution to achieve any objective. (eg: Taya Jaan Qadri’s dharnas both against PMLN and PPP)
- Apologise to the awaam for wasting their time and obtaining nothing of substance. Because as opposed to the guaranteed offer on the 13th of August and then army facilitation, the judicial commission agreed to now has no such guarantors or facilitators to solidify its concluding report.
- Fall on your knees and plead apology from the five PTI members kicked out upon principles that stated entering the National Assembly was not only a great sin but was also a taboo in the eyes of the party and it’s top hierarchy. So not only has their stance been vindicated but an apology alongside a request to join the party once again would be logical.
- Eliminate all boot lickers and feet suckers from the party instantly and load the higher positions with men of steel, of solid opinions and intellect plus logic, who do not on the basis of just the ‘Imran Khan’ charisma switch their point of view, rather question and reprimand the leadership when required.
- Evaluate the 126 days of dharna and realize cursing, swear words and horrendous cusses does not lead the party towards a flowery garden, every word uttered by the leaders is scripted and can be brought back to haunt them. Thus, next time, be careful what words leave your mouth.
- Finally, educate their social media goons and general supporters that not every person who opposes the perception of the party leadership is sold and every person has a right to opinionating per pleasure. Emphasize upon the need for freedom of expression and recognize the fact that Imran Khan and the party too can be wrong, sometimes.
At the end of the day, the only loser is the person who refuses to learn from the past and for a revolutionary party or so as claimed by PTI, this is probably a basic test. Learn and accept the fact that yes, we were wrong, yes, we should have waited inside the parliament for a solution, and yes, we were on a high ride to popularizing our cause. If all is accepted and grave lessons learnt, I see no harm in welcoming the PTI, as they finally embrace logic and sanity and step back onto the only podium of dispute resolution, forever and always, the democracy of reason, the palate of success.
