Enemy within or Enemy Unknown:

On 15th march 2015, Pakistan witnessed another black day when the Enemy unknown attacked on the worshiping places of the largest minority group of Pakistan. But this time the attack triggered the Enemy within. After two brutal attacks, an angry mob grabbed two people and beat them to death. The mob didn’t just stop there, their anger caused the destruction of societal assets and the burning of two victims. One of them was an innocent member of society, who got killed because of his beard and outlook.

In Quran, Allah states that “We ordained for the Children of Israel that if any one slew a person – unless it be for murder or for spreading mischief in the land – it would be as if he slew the whole people: and if any one saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of the whole people” [005:032]. This verse implies that the mob didn’t kill one or two innocent people but in fact they killed the whol of humanity. Their intensity and power can be judged from the fact that even law enforcement personnel were unable to control them and the mob even snatched the victims from the clutches of police.

It doesn’t matter one bit if it happened after the assassination of Benazir Bhutto, the blasphemous cartoon protests or attacks on churches, whenever one witnesses such events, the consequences would be the same. These are conducted by anti-social elements of society.

The question that comes to mind is, who are these people? Who were in that mob? Who actually killed the innocents? It was not the enemy unknown but in reality they are the enemy within. They are the anti social personalities that do not belong to any religion, community or group. They are always on the lookout for such events, through which they can easily obtain their objectives. Assets were destroyed; cash machines and counters were looted. If you ever think on it you would get to know that these are the common consequences of every such event that takes place due to the actions of a mob.

They are always non recognizable in spite of the numerous live footage and snaps witnessed by everyone. These elements do not belong to this society but actually live to destroy the social fabric of society. They take full advantage of the anger and non responsiveness of the people around these situations to obtain their destructive means and aims.

The responsibility falls on our shoulders, that in order to guarantee the well being of this nation, we need to stand together and expose such people. The State also needs to recognize it and police should be made capable enough to control these situations of anarchy. It is our dilemma that the police is engaged in providing protocol to VIPs rather than maintain law and order.. Under such circumstances, we as a nation, need to stand by our own and fight against the enemy within and enemy unknown.
