Yesterday I was a student, today I am Technology puppet.

The revolution in the technology has not only equipped us with the portable gadgets and telecom devices but the competition between the global leading cellular phone companies made these mobile devices accessible to almost every single person. At a very reasonable price one can own a mobile phone with many good features, which are believed to be the necessity of modern life.

Five years back when I had my first cell phone it was a very simple one with some built in games in it. Having a phone with camera was a subject of pride to the owner but when I observe now, my brother owns a very good phone compared to me when I was at his age. Even the cost difference between my first phone and his starter version is very less but when I differentiate in terms of features the one my brother owns is far more better I had when I was in my A-Levels.

Android, Iphone Operating System and other major operation systems of these smart phones support numerous applications which are available free of cost at the mobile online shops. Being an open source the mobile phone application developers have a chance to become entrepreneurs. There are pros to this technological progress in every aspect from economy to providing easy access to the source of information. This comfortable source of information is not actually that much pleasing what it seems. Now a days if you want to learn something, rather than consulting a formal teacher, one would prefer to download some recent applications of his interest and will obey the guidance provided blindly. Either you wish to become a body builder or a guitar player, or your interest in philosophy or poetry, your instructor is away on few touches. You can download the tutor at a very cheap cost and within few seconds. The problem here is of the reliability of the information provided by these mobile software’s. Secondly the user trusts these applications so blindly that to win an argument one would just consult these applications and will give evidence by opening it instantly.

Einstein once said “I fear the day technology will surpass our human interaction. The world will have a generation of idiots.”If we see the prediction of Einstein is proving to be correct in the recent world.  In old days students had proper teachers who would pass his art and knowledge to his followers. Discussions with teachers developed one’s analytical and argumentative skills and now one would just follow the information provided by few applications so confidently that individual abides by the laws defined. The formal teachers which were once called “Ustaad” “Guru” or “Master” have only been associated with the formal education institutions. The masters of yesterday have been replaced and the students have turned into puppets.

Every single creation of men has some pros and cons but it is upon the practice of the user, my point here is not to discourage the use of these technological innovations but it is our responsibility to have a complete research on any application before we intend to adopt the formulas defined. The user should have an information package developed by the authentic source in which the consumer is interested. Like if one is fond of movies, the trustworthy author could be IMDB, soccer players could go for instruction softwares coded by FIFA. If complete research is not conducted, then the user should have a satisfactory knowledge about the software programming company.
