Cheer up the lonely day!
What a tricky way to feel whilst lonely! The emotion is hell-bent on making the person conjure up silly ideas and carve out practices and activities, which are in no way fruitful or beneficial to him/her. Loneliness is indeed triggered by idleness and the inability to surround oneself of playful company or any interesting indulgence. It’s downright true what they say, ‘An idle mind is a devil’s workshop’. However, shun these loneliness pangs and idle way of life this summer by doing something worthwhile, something that would cheer you up rather than bring you down and make you feel miserable.
There are tones of numerous ways to break free from how one feels while lonely and makes the subject resort to unproductive and unhealthy activities most of the times. Procrastinating, day dreaming, picking up fights, binge eating, lazing and sometimes even sobbing are some of the outcomes of the wicked emotion that is loneliness. Seldom does it happen that one would resort to religious activities, for instance, praying.
Good friends and family are the only ones who rescue us from the dark abyss of this emotion; they take us out for a drive, talk us through, make us laugh; persuade us to watch their favorite scene on ‘How I Met Your Mother’ repeatedly. Such charmers, no? Having said that, ever wondered there is an activity out there one lonely heart and troubled soul can benefit from whilst indulging? I was reading somewhere on the solace and comfort one could find in just plain screaming so loud for no reason with your entire mouth gaping wide and isthmus faucium ringing from side to side. Letting it all out with this hidden enertia even you knew didn’t exist; venting all the anger, bitterness, insecurity, angst, depression, fears and loneliness by screaming out loud. Don’t just sit in the comfort of your home and follow my advice. How about head off to someplace where your screaming would be understood too? Haha!
I tried it, my friends tried it and then my friends of friends tried this too. My siblings did too and so did my nieces. And after a while my colleagues got down to doing this too and before I knew it, everyone was enjoying the activity so much and that too in large hoarding numbers. Everyone was belting out their deep-rooted loneliness with this insane but very fruitful exercise and that too without the help of the other. It’s called self-cheering!
So without looking delirious and mind-numbingly stupid and crazy, or whatever you decide to call it, just try it out at Fun City, Pakistan! It’s situated in the Centaurus Mall, Islamabad and that’s the place me and all the aforementioned people exercised this screaming act while getting atop their Drop N’ Twist ride, where one falls but their feet never touch the ground. Life should be like that too. God should’ve given us the leverage of falling when required but not really falling! Just picking ourselves up on the way. And then there are the bumper cars. A little bump here and a little bump there on your chosen vehicle, while you’re constantly trying to mane oeuvre your way without getting hit. Just scream and yell and pass funny comments to the other riders, all the while freeing you from all pain or anguish you might get from life. And then the laser mazes, the arcade games, the arm wrestling corner and what not! Let your hair loose, love yourself, clear your throat and head off to Fun City for some self-cheering!
