Paris Devastated By Terror Attacks

On the evening of Friday 13th November, Paris was rocked by a sustained, sophisticated terror attack. The well orchestrated assault happened at several different locations in the city.

The football stadium, where President Francois Hollande was watching a friendly match between France and Germany was struck by suicide bombers. Restaurants, cafes, bars and the Bataclan concert hall were pelted with automatic gunfire. In the hall a rock concert was underway, the gunmen took the fans hostage and then detonated their suicide bombs.

The devastating carnage left behind 129 dead and many hundreds injured. Bodies were strewn across as blood filled streets of Paris.

Seven of the eight attackers blew themselves up and one was shot by the security forces.

ISIS has since accepted responsibility for the atrocious attacks.

A state of emergency was declared in France. President Francois Hollande warned there would be a merciless response to the act of war.

It was only ten months ago that Paris suffered terrorist assault killing twelve people after the Charlie Hebdo cartoons were published.

The French military has been actively involved in air strikes upon ISIS in Syria. Many commentators believe the creation of ISIS took place after the Iraq war was commenced by George W. Bush and Tony Blair in 2003.

ISIS are a very violent group of people, not representative of Islam and have been killing Muslims and non-Muslims alike in several countries. They have become a global threat to peace.

My faithful community offers its deepest condolences to the people of France and its Government following the terrible terrorist attacks.

The innocent victims of these barbaric attacks and their families are in our thoughts and prayers.

We strongly condemn the attacks by religious extremists on Paris. All forms of terrorism and extremism are against the true teachings of Islam.

The Holy Quran states that to kill one innocent person is equivalent to killing the whole of humanity.

Murder can never be justified and those who seek to justify their hateful acts in the name of Islam, are serving only to defame it in the worst possible way.

Our sympathies and prayers are with the innocent victims and their families. May God Almighty grant patience to them all.

The consequences of this horrific attack in Paris will be far reaching. It has the potential to destabilise European nations. Muslims have already become alienated and Islamophobic  attacks will continue to increase. The aim of the terrorists is not only to seek revenge but also split communities in Europe causing chaos and anarchy. As hatred towards muslims increases they will recruit more disaffected youth to their misguided cause.

Already many people from Europe have travelled to Syria to be involved in the fighting.

One of the Paris terrorists is alleged to have been a Syrian refugee coming to France via Greece. The knock on effect will be an increased backlash against the thousands of refugees flowing into Europe.

The only way to resolve the World crisis is to unite and follow the pathway of peace, by way of dialogue.

Stopping wars and violence is the only way ahead, the alternative one will just lead us to World War 3.
